Sorrel

June 28th, 2011 · No Comments · Medicinal Plants Poetry Project

Forest stripped
of kindling and sorrel,
we drank sauerampfersuppe
from our tidemarked canteens.
It was eight o’clock.
The sun set but the glow
was in the East
where Metz was burning.
