primulin like mannite like Disraeli
Imperium et Libertas they’re pin-
eyed, thrum-eyed looking at me
as if springtime’s for them and
their vermifugal force. leagues
over the lawn, conservative but
emetic, astringent, take for
paralysis and gout and doubt
the path and skipping along
the lane of.
                        it was Darwin
reason for this tongued insect
base of the tube the honey
pollen rubbed on from the
anthers a dye yellow of
primrose pottage and a tea
‘famous for curing the phrensie.’
