i sell chickweed – & grunsell
out the public fields
& sleep for plants
folding – the tender buds
i pay nothing for it
the little birds in cadges
little songsters
chirp at the chickweed man
a single seed breaks
in the eyes
heat and redness
at the joints – procumbent
weak & swollen
chick-weed for the bird!
chick-weed for the bird!
at 9am – at chalk farm
i gets the chickweed
i bruise it on the 168
on the upper deck
that’s a favourite simple
in a spot of hogs grease
boiled w/ a clipper
the linnets go mental
chick-weed for the bird!
chick-weed for the bird!
or a cooling salad
for the hot and virulent
parts of gentlefolk
goes straight online
at ½d a bunch
& the ladies i sell it to
are mostly sickly
but sometimes they aint
