I’ve learnt this much my love
as often as I get it right I get it wrong
I say something a hundred times
as often as it lives it wilts between us
my love won’t stay distinct from my resentment
so I say it all again my love
curling the words round earlier mistakes
and then what flowers
I’ve learnt this much to show I’m trying
the place to be is on my knees
tugging out the weeds my love
their propagative fragments
busy with the endless work
making ready making good
